| The West
Indian Labor Day Carnival in New York City is by some accounts the
nation's
largest street fair, attracting literally millions of guests. Filled
with costumes and face paintings designed
to impress, Shadee (above), from Lawrenceville NJ, was one of the
masses
of masqueraders celebrating colorful Caribbean carnival
tradition at the September 2008 parade. Erin was happy to help take
this reveler's cheetah look to
the max for this very special occasion! |
| "I cannot tell you how wonderful a time
Shadee had... people were stopping her to take photographs constantly
(if I only billed a dollar per photo... :-) Thanks a million!" Sharon N. (Shadee's mom) Lawrenceville NJ |

| Back for the
second year, the Second Look Face Painting team entertained scores of
guests like the family above at this fall's annual company picnic for
the Princeton-based global energy producing corporation, NRG Energy.
This year's festivities were held at the huge and magnificent Pine
Creek Miniature Golf Course, just north of Hopewell NJ in Hunterdon
County. |

| Brian Murphy of
Shrewsbury NJ is determined to conquer the neurovascular disorder
that affects his brain. He and his wife Robin recently organized the
first annual Conquer Chiari Walk in New Jersey to raise awareness and
funds
for research and treatment of Chiari malformation. On a fall
morning on the boardwalk at Pier Village in Long Branch, NJ, Erin
painted
some of the event's participants, like the young lady above. |
| "Brian
and I wanted to thank you very much for donating your time for our
First Annual Conquer Chiari Walk Across America. You
did an amazing job! Our daughter Caitlin loved her rainbow fairy!!!
She would not let me wash her face Saturday night!!! All the kids
loved it! We really appreciate you donating your time to help raise
awareness for Chiari. People are still talking about the great work
that you do. We would love for you to come back next year! Thanks
again!" Robin, Caitlin & Brian Murphy Shrewsbury NJ |
| Erin was
delighted to
join the squadron of volunteers in June '08 supporting the first annual
benefit picnic for Ryan's Quest, a Hamilton-based organization devoted
to raising awareness and funds to find a cure for Duchenne muscular
dystrophy. About a year earlier, Ryan was diagnosed with this
debilitating and
life shortening illness and his parents launched into action, founding
a non-profit organization and rallying the support of Washington
politicians to initiate new research funding legislation. The group is
now sponsoring a growing list of special events to get the word out and
build hope through research. Above, Ryan and his mom Maria enjoy his
mini tiger face painting at the summertime shindig which drew thousands
to the Tall
Cedars Picnic Grove in Hamilton. Learn more about the goals and future
events of this organization by visiting www.ryansquest.org. |
"Thank you for your help in making Ryan's Quest first annual benefit picnic a huge success... We would particularly like to thank you for donating your time to provide such wonderful entertainment to the guests. Everyone had a great time, especially the children who looked adorable with their face painting. Ryan sure loved his tiger face! We hope you will join us again next year!" | Princeton
University's Reunions Weekend 2008 included the Second Look Face
Painting team!
The Class of '93 asked for special tiger-themed face painting designs
to help alumni who returned to Princeton's campus with their families
to celebrate their 15th
reunion. In addition to the brother and sister shown above, plenty of
the grown-ups also got their tiger on before joining the P-rade --
Princeton's massive march of alumni. |

Look Face Painter Tess Ammerman Interstate Connecting Components Inc., a military contractor in Burlington County NJ, invited The Second Look Face Painting team to be a part of their company's big summer '08 barbecue! Above, Samara the tiger poses with her nanny Vanessa from Brazil. |
"I recently worked with Second Look Face Painting for a corporate barbecue. The entire experience was very positive. Erin sent her team members to assist us during the event and they were by far the best part of the day! They had a line all day long and such wonderful designs came away from their table. From entire faces to temporary arm tattoos, they were extremely creative and talented. I am looking forward to working with Second Look again in the future!" Michelle Murphy, President Murphy Assistants Fairless Hills (Bucks County) PA |
| For the third
consecutive year, Erin painted faces at the "Run for Dad," an
annual American Cancer Society event held on Father's Day that raises
awareness and funds for prostate cancer. Above, before the crowds
arrive, Erin paints a blue
prostate cancer awareness ribbon on the cheek of her cousin Frank
Haggerty, himself a survivor who lost his father to the disease.
(The American Cancer Society webpage linked through his name tells the
story.) This event takes place every
June at Mercer County Park in West Windsor NJ and this year drew about
2,000 participants, including numerous survivors and over 100 children.
The shores of Lake Mercer are visible in the background of the photo
above, showing the painting location within the "Kid's Fun Zone," right
in front of the boathouse. Erin's face painting was this event's
first-ever entertertainment and proved to be such a hit in 2006, she's
been
invited back each year since to anchor the Kid's Fun Zone. For more information on this and other local ACS events and programs, visit the website for the NY/NJ American Cancer Society. |
"Thank you so much for your good work for all the kids at Run for Dad. I can't tell you how many people came to me to say how much their children enjoyed it! You were the star of the Kid's Zone and we hope you'll return next year!" Glenn Parker Run for Dad Co-Chair and Volunteer American Cancer Society |

| The National Kidney
Foundation's Central New Jersey Walk is held annually at Princeton's

more
colorful by painting the faces of participants like the trio of
girlfriends above! For more information on this and other NKF events, visit the website for the National Kidney Foundation |

| The
Fort Dix Joint Forces Family Carnival brought hundreds of soldier's
kids out for the festivities in the fall of 2007. Erin thanks Major
Dowgin of the
New Jersey National Guard for helping to get her through security and
for the unusual opportunity to paint faces in the middle of a bustling
military base, in view of
tanks! And for the invitation to do it again at the 2008
festival! |
| "I saw
Erin Penney's
website & knew she had some neat face painting designs there, but I
was
blown away by the beautiful works of art she did at our company's
event! Now
when
someone
asks me if I know a great face painter, I can say with confidence,
'Why,
yes I do!'" Darcie King President New Jersey Event Professionals |
| In Princeton's
Carnegie Center, the NRG Energy company picnic in the fall of '07 had a
pirate
theme and
featured
both the
Second Look Face Painting team and one of the tallest pirates ever!
Those of ordinary height are (l to r) Kelly Allen, Erin Penney, and
Tess Ammerman. The Second Look Face Painting team is proud to have
returned to entertain at NRG's '08 company picnic as well! |
"Of all the face painters I've seen, your work is without parallel. The quality was obvious from your website but what we could not believe was how fast you do it! Mind-blowing!" Abby's dad |
| The white collar union workers of Hamilton Township (Mercer County) NJ hold their annual Christmas parties at the Nottingham Ballroom in Hamilton Square. Above, Second Look face painters Tess and Erin paint two of the scores of faces that have their choice of full face and special holiday accent designs, like snowmen and holly leaves. It's a special annual hometown event for Erin! |
| At a huge private party in Wilmington, Delaware, celebrating the graduation of the Class of 2007, Second Look's temp tattoos were a major hit! Above, a hand-painted tribal sun was done by special request to mark the spot where the real one may one day go... there's no easier way to take the look of a tattoo for a test drive! |

| The Second Look Face Painting team was on hand to paint faces at a company picnic for the 8,000 or so employees of Educational Testing Service. The event was held on the main campus of ETS's corporate headquarters in Princeton, NJ. Visible in the photo just to the left of the tree is the Second Look design board, and just beyond the waiting crowd, the team artists and tattoo technicians worked in four stations to keep up with the demand! |
| This
summertime
church fair was packed with excitement, games, balloons, popcorn,
cotton
candy, and all kinds of characters! Dozens of families went home that
night
with princesses, fairies, heroes, monsters, and tigers of both stripes
- both
friendly and fierce. The photo above is from Erin's first year at this
event ('06), and she's been back each year ever since! |

"Erin
Penney from Second Look
Face
Painting was the biggest hit at our Second Annual Family Fun Fest at
Graceway Bible Church in Hamilton. Every child fifth grade and down was
given a ticket for a face painting. The face painting was such a big
hit Erin had to work non-stop throughout the night. The children
loved it and the parents couldn't believe the quality and beauty of
every face painted. Erin was great to work with and did an unbelievable
job. Everyone was blown away by her work! Thanks, Erin, for the
memories!"

| The NY/NJ
Chapter of the American Cancer Society's Fourth Annual "Run For Dad"
was held at Mercer County Park, West Windsor, NJ, on Father's Day,
2006. Erin was delighted to have been invited to be this event's
first-ever entertainment. Over 1,000 people participated in the 5K
race, two mile
walk, and children's races as part of this day centered on prostate
cancer awareness. Above, this supporter of the cause, almost one year
old, models her first face painting. A second
after this photo was taken, she was as delighted as her mother to
discover herself in the mirror. |
| "Everyone
commented that the 2006 Run for Dad, an event held on Father's Day to
raise awareness about prostate cancer in men, had a great spirit and
wonderful family feeling. A big contributor to that special feeling was
Erin Penney. Her face painting was a big hit with the kids as well as
their parents. By our count, more than half of the children came by to
have one of Erin's unique designs painted on their face. The 2006 Run
for Dad was the first time we used any special entertainment for the
children and Erin was the first person I asked to return again for the
2007 Run for Dad." Glenn Parker Run for Dad Co-Chair and Volunteer American Cancer Society |
| Face painting was available at the Memorial Day Parade in Hamilton Square for the first time ever in 2006. The set-up was at the Cookie Cottage where this girl, shown on the shop's front porch on Nottingham Way, opted for the Rainbow Fairy design just before the two-hour parade kicked off. |

| The leaves on the trees at Collegium Charter School near Philadelphia were nearly as colorful as the kid's faces at the school's annual "Harvest Festival." |
|
"The Collegium Charter School Harvest
Festival, attended by over 1,000 families, was a huge
success
thanks to Erin and her company. Her booth drew the most attention as
scores
of children waited patiently for her artistic flare! She is a true gem
and
we are looking forward to having her again!"
